With around 100 employees, the Ostsee-Molkerei Wismar produces both the standard cheese varieties as well as cheese specialities such as naturally matured Tilsiter or ALTER SCHWEDE. By purchasing the small dairy in 1994 Rücker GmbH was able to fill further niches in the cheese sector. This enabled the family owned company to extend its position as an independent dairy company further. The Rücker family also developed this small dairy into a large concern that processes over 400 million kilograms of milk annually. Each year over 43,000 tonnes of cheese are produced for the domestik market and for export.
